New permanent exhibition in CAC Malaga

19Feb

Quite a while ago here on the blog of Hotel Florida Spa we recommended you visit the Contemporary Art Centre of Malaga also known as CAC Malaga.

The CAC is in what now is known as the Malaga Soho and it is one of the most popular and most visited museums in the city as its entry is free and it always houses amazing exhibitions.

Last week in fact it has renewed its permanent collection which is called “Neighbours IV”.

That collection is a selection of 50 works by 33 artists with the city of Malaga as a reference.

The pieces of art there on display include sculptures, paintings, drawings and photos from the first decade of the 21st Century to nowadays.

CAC Malaga opens from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.  so if you are into art and you are planning to come on holiday to Hotel Florida Spa we recommend you to visit Malaga and this unique exhibition.

Enjoy contemporary art in Malaga!

7th Edition of La Cazuela de la Abuela

12Feb

As it is February and it is chillier than usual there is nothing better now than having some wintery comfort food, and this is why each February Fuengirola organizes the popular food route called “La Cazuela de la Abuela”.

This year in fact will be its 7th edition and 57 establishments will participate in it. From Friday the 16th till Sunday the 4th of March they all will offer a delicious casserole and a drink ( glass of wine, beer, soft drink or water) for only 2€.

As it is now tradition the Rivera Beach Club, which belongs to our sister hotel Hotel Yaramar, will also participate this year with a tasty traditional casserole from Jerez that has chickpeas, chorizo and black pudding as main ingredients… It sounds lovely, right?

If you are currently on holiday in Hotel Florida Spa, your hotel in Fuengirola, and love Spanish food we certainly recommend you to try the new amazing casserole chef Salvador from the Rivera Beach Club has prepared for you all this year and to vote for it!

We also would like to wish Salvador best of luck and hope he gets in a position as great as in the past editions!

05Feb

Do you love board games and enjoy having hours of fun playing Monopoly with friends and family?

If your answer was yes you will love to know that right now Monopoly is looking for 20 Spanish cities with over 50,000 inhabitants and 2 towns with less than 50,000 inhabitants to feature in the next edition of the game, and Fuengirola is one of the candidates.

The vote is open now and Fuengirola is currently 24th, so it needs as many votes as possible to be in among the most popular.

To vote all you have to do is click here and then click on “VOTAR”

We certainly would love to see Fuengirola featured in one of the most popular and best selling games in the world as it would be amazing to build a mini Hotel Florida Spa in the space of FuengirolaDon’t you agree?

Best of luck, Fuengirola!
