Do you like castles?

25Juin

This week at Hotel Florida Spa, your hotel in Fuengirola, we would like to tell you about the Colomares Castle, a stunning case only 20 minutes away from us.

This monument was created by Dr. Esteban Martín y Martin in 1984, as a tribute to Christopher Columbus and the Discovery of America.

Its walls are full of history, its style is a mix between gothic and neobyzantine, and its most outstanding feature is that its chapel is the smallest in the world ( 1,96 square metres).

It is open from Wednesday till Sunday, but its opening hours change depending on the season:

Winter: From 10:00 A.M. till 2:00 P.M. and from 3:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M.

Spring and Autumn: From 10:00 A.M. till 2:00 P.M. and from 3:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Summer: From 10:00 A.M. till 2:00 P.M. and from 4:00 P.M. till 9:00 P.M.

The World Cup is here!

18Juin

The World Cup started last Thursday, 14th of June, with the Russia v. Saudi Arabia match.

We love football here at Hotel Florida Spa and we know you do too, so because of this we are showing some of the matches in our Lord Nelson Bar and some in our Snack Bar so you can enjoy them together while having a drink or something to eat.

Summer 2018 is going to be good fun thanks to the World Cup. We support Spain… what about you? who are you supporting and who do you think will win it?

Best of luck to all teams and may the best one win!

Enjoy the World Cup with us at Hotel Florida Spa!

Graffiti exhibition in Fuengirola

11Juin

Last month, here on the blog of Hotel Florida Spa, your hotel in Fuengirola, we recommended you visit several exhibitions that at the time were being held in Fuengirola.  Today we continue with the same topic as we would like to tell you about another fascinating free exhibition in Casa de la Cultura of Fuengirola.

The exhibition is of urban art, it is called “Cambios – Changes” and includes the works of young local graffiti artist D.Darko.

The exhibition will be available to visit till Monday the 2nd of July, and it contains around 30 works of different sizes and formats.

D.Darko has been painting graffiti since 1998 and has participated in different exhibitions in galleries and museums like the CAC Malaga, The Benetton Foundation in Venice or the Neurotitan in Berlin.

Casa de la Cultura is in Fuengirola town centre, so it is easily walkable from our hotel.

If you are currently having a great holiday with us and you like modern art, we certainly recommend you not to miss the chance to visit this interesting exhibition by a local artist.

Enjoy art in Fuengirola!
