Malaga is not only one of the most important European regions to tourists but also to birds as apart from many hotels and tourist attractions it also has important wild green spaces.

From August to November is when birds migrate so for this reason during these months many ornithology lovers visit our region to observe birds in its natural environment.

The ornithological tourist offer in the Malaga region is outstanding as there are many nature reserves, organised routes and observatories from where birds can be spotted, being the natural reserve located by the mouth of the Guadalhorce River the closest to Fuengirola.

If these beautiful animals are your passion and you are interested in knowing a bit more about the wide variety of species that can be found in Malaga we recommend you to visit birdingmalaga.com, a website dedicated to the promotion of ornithological tourism in our province.

Malaga is considered as an ideal destination to tourists interested in the observation of plant and animal species, so if you are one of them and you fancy a quite unique holiday, make the most of your stay at Hotel Florida Spa, your hotel in Fuengirola, by discovering the beautiful wild areas our region hides!

La Concepcion Botanical Gardens

19elo

Did you know that in Malaga we have wonderful botanical gardens? They are called La Concepción, they are over 150 years and they have an English landscape style.

Nowadays these gardens not only are considered a Cultural Interest Site but also the most beautiful and important subtropical gardens in Spain. Their beauty is breathtaking and the number of tropical, subtropical and native species that can be found in there is well impressive.

Originally this was the retreat of a local bourgeois family, but nowadays it belongs to the Malaga Council and it is open to visitors.

As during the summer we normally like spending our evenings outdoors La Concepción has decided to open its doors also in the evening (every Wednesday in July and August) offering guided visits up to 10:30 P.M.

During these evening visits music will be played, the buildings that can be found in the garden can be visited and you might find out some interesting details about the family who back in the day lived in there.

As this is a very popular place it is highly recommended to book your visit beforehand by phone or online

La Concepción is one of the best gardens in Europe and now you are very close so why don’t you make the most of your stay at Hotel Florida Spa, your hotel in Fuengirola, and visit it?

Embrace nature in Malaga!

Fair of Malaga 2013

12elo

August has finally arrived and as every year the city of Malaga is ready to start celebrating its Fair, which this year will take place from Saturday the 17th till Saturday the 24th of August.

The Fair of Malaga commemorates the re conquest of Malaga by the Catholic Monarchs on the 19th of August 1487.

The first celebration of the re conquest took place in 1491, and since then it has evolved lots becoming the current Fair, one of the most awaited events of the year for locals and visitors.

Nowadays this big summer festival still has a traditional side but at the same time it is quite cosmopolitan and international, something that makes sense if we take into consideration that Malaga is the capital of Costa del Sol.

Hotel Florida Spa, your hotel in Fuengirola, recommends you to visit the Fair of Malaga, especially the “Morning Fair” in the city centre as there you will have the chance to try tasty Malaga wines and eat lovely tapas while enjoying some typical Fair music and dancingThe atmosphere is simply amazing! Have lots of fun!!
