Flamenco Shows in Mijas

Last week, here on the blog of Hotel Florida Spa, your hotel in Fuengirola, we recommended you attend the fantastic sevillanas dancing classes that the Fuengirola Council has organised this month as a warm up for the upcoming fair.

Today, our recommendation is also about dancing as every week, both on Wednesdays and Saturdays at midday there is a free flamenco show in Mijas Pueblo.

On Wednesday the show is in Plaza Virgen de la Peña and on Saturday it is in Plaza de la Constitución.

As it is outdoors, the shows are on weather permitting, but as in Costa del Sol we have a good weather most of the times, they rarely get cancelled.

Due to the great location of Hotel Florida Spa, getting from our hotel to Mijas Pueblo is very easy and quick, as the bus to Mijas is taken in Fuengirola bus station, which is only 5 minutes away walking from us.

If you would like to watch this superb free show and visit one of the most beautiful whitewashed villages in Andalusia, Wednesdays and Saturdays are the perfect days to do it!

Enjoy flamenco in Mijas Pueblo!

The Fair of Malaga is here!

Are you currently staying at Hotel Florida and you fancy living a typical Spanish experience?

If that’s what you would like we recommend you not to miss the fantastic fair that is on in Malaga city right now.

The fair of Malaga started last Saturday the 12th and it will be on until Sunday the 20th  of August, so you still have plenty of time to visit it.

Although the dates can vary this festival is always celebrated in mid August as it commemorates the reconquest of Malaga by the Catholic Monarchs on the 19th of August 1487.

This fair is the most important celebration of the year in Malaga and it is very traditional although at the same time it is quite cosmopolitan and international due to the big amount of visitors from all over the world who come to Malaga just to be able to live this experience.

During the day this beautiful event takes place in the city centre of Malaga, so it won’t be too difficult for you to get there thanks to train line that connects our town with Malaga city.

Once there you will enjoy looking at beautiful flamenco dresses, observing expontaneous dancing in the streets and tasting some delicious tapas and wines in a very happy environment.

If you visit the fair of Malaga you will surely have a great time!
