Mijas Milenaria exhibition

21elo

Just a pair of weeks ago, here on the blog of Hotel Florida Spa, we recommended you to visit Mijas, not only because it is a beautiful whitewashed village but also because every summer there is a great tapas route there.

Today we would like to recommend you to visit our neighbouring town again as right now and until the 3rd of September the Casa Museo museum houses a great exhibition called “Mijas Milenaria” (“Millenary Mijas”).

This exhibition shows a very important part of the history of the town as it contains a wide variety of objects from different civilisations from prehistoric to modern times.

One of the most important objects on display is a book temporarily lent by the Malaga Historical Archives that contains very interesting information about our region like the arrival of the Catholic Monarchs to Malaga after the Reconquest.

As you know getting to Mijas from Fuengirola is quite easy and cheap thanks to the M-122 bus line that links Fuengirola central station with Mijas Pueblo.

If you have a passion for history and archeology and you are currenly staying at Hotel Florida Spa, we recommend you not to miss this great exhibit.

Enjoy the beauty of Mijas and its fabulous museums!

The Fair of Malaga is here!

14elo

Are you currently staying at Hotel Florida and you fancy living a typical Spanish experience?

If that’s what you would like we recommend you not to miss the fantastic fair that is on in Malaga city right now.

The fair of Malaga started last Saturday the 12th and it will be on until Sunday the 20th  of August, so you still have plenty of time to visit it.

Although the dates can vary this festival is always celebrated in mid August as it commemorates the reconquest of Malaga by the Catholic Monarchs on the 19th of August 1487.

This fair is the most important celebration of the year in Malaga and it is very traditional although at the same time it is quite cosmopolitan and international due to the big amount of visitors from all over the world who come to Malaga just to be able to live this experience.

During the day this beautiful event takes place in the city centre of Malaga, so it won’t be too difficult for you to get there thanks to train line that connects our town with Malaga city.

Once there you will enjoy looking at beautiful flamenco dresses, observing expontaneous dancing in the streets and tasting some delicious tapas and wines in a very happy environment.

If you visit the fair of Malaga you will surely have a great time!
