Open-air cinema in Fuengirola

Did you know that there is a free of charge open-air cinema at Los Boliches Beach?

This is the 7th year in a row that this great event, organised by the Fuengirola Council together with Miramar Shopping Centre, takes place as since it started it has been very well received not only by locals but also by visitors.

Same as in previous years the films are in Spanish with English subtitles, so this way foreign residents or tourists will also be able to enjoy them.

In summer 2018 the 4 chosen films are the following:

Monday the 23rd of July at 10:00 P.M.: “Fantastic beasts and where to find them”

Tuesday the 24th of July at 10:00 P.M.: “The Boss Baby”

Monday the 6th of August at 10:00 P.M.: “Spiderman Homecoming”

Tuesday the 7th of August at 10:00 P.M.: “Despicable Me 3”

As you see all these films are family oriented and suitable for all, so if you are currently on holiday at Hotel Florida Spa and you fancy spending a fantastic evening outdoors watching a film while enjoying the sound of waves we recommend you not to miss Fuengirola’s awesome open-air cinema.

This is one the reasons why we say that our beaches are as great as those in the movies!

Beach warning flags

Many of you choose to come on holiday to Hotel Florida Spa not only because of the great weather we have here but also because of our great location right by the beach.

Beaches in Costa del Sol are some of the best in Andalusia; in fact this year here we have 24 beaches with blue flags, a certification only the best beaches in the world receive.

3 of these 24 great quality beaches are in Fuengirola. One of these beaches is the one by the castle, the other is Carvajal Beach and the last one is Los Boliches Beach, right opposite our sister hotels Hotel Yaramar and Hotel Angela.

Although we have fantastic beaches with clean water and great sand we should always be cautious and check the beach warning flags before getting into the sea.

These flags are usually displayed alone on a pole and have a traffic light colour system. A green flag indicates a safe bathing condition, a yellow one, means bathing with caution, while a red one indicates bathing is prohibited as it is very dangerous.

Now that you know about this warning system we are sure you will pay more attention and feel much safer next time you go to the beach.

Enjoy the sun and our beautiful beaches!

Time to get tanned

After a rainy weekend, we are sure that now that the sun is out again you are eager to get out and work on your tan. It is because of this that this week we would like to share with you some easy tips to help you get beautifully tanned during your holiday in Costa del Sol.

Tips to get a good tan:

  • Drink a glass of orange and carrot juice daily. Carrots and oranges help you to get a tan faster and their vitamins protect your skin.
  • Light-skinned people have to be much more careful and tanning can take longer, but if a few days before hitting the beach or the pool you apply a self tanning lotion, your skin will get tanned more easily.
  • If you want an even tan it is better to have a walk than to lay down under the sun. That way we will avoid getting certain parts of our body very tanned while others remain white.

Here in Hotel Florida Spa we love to be tanned, but we are always very careful as damaging the skin sunbathing is really dangerous.

We hope you find these tips we just shared with you helpful and that you enjoy the beautiful sunny days expected this week in Fuengirola.

There is no excuse now…it is time to get tanned!
